She is currently working on two more books:
BJ's most successful book to date is A PEACOCK IN THE LAND OF PENGUINS: A Fable About Creativity and Courage, which has sold over 300,000 copies and is published in 17 languages worldwide. BJ has worked in the training and adult education field for almost twenty years. Before starting her own business in 1991, she spent nearly five years as Manager of Training and Development for The Los Angeles Times, where she had key responsibilities in the areas of high-potential leadership development, management assessment and development, workforce diversity, teambuilding, recruitment and selection training, sales training, and customer relations. Prior to that, she was the Director of Staff Training and Professional Development for the University of Southern California, where she directed numerous programs for both faculty and staff. It was while she was on staff at USC that she wrote her first book, a spiritual book entitled Telling Your Story, Exploring Your Faith (Chalice Press). BJ is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of USC, having earned her Bachelor's degree Summa Cum Laude in the field of sociology. She has completed the course work for a Ph.D. in Social Ethics, also at USC. She has served as a Commissioner on the City of Los Angeles Productivity Commission, as a Board Member for the L. A. chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD). She is an active member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, the National Speakers Association, and PEN Center USA West.
